My armpits are really irritated by my deodorant. I keep switching but nothing works. What do I do?

My armpits started itching really bad. Thinking it was my antiperspirant/deodorant, I bought regular deodorant. It worked for a while but because it was a gel, it dried out and then my armpits chafed. So what should I do so my armpits don%26#039;t itch or hurt?

you should ask your doctor if there are any chemicals that you are allergic to in the deodorant.


See if its a rash from a shirt, and stop wearing deodorant for a weekend. See if its because of your deodorant or not.
Reply:Try using baby powder with it? Maybe the roll on ones aren%26#039;t for you, try a spray. There should be some for sensitive skin.
Reply:wash and dry thouroughly. try corn starch till the chaffing goes away. You could be allergic to the deodorant or the soap you shower with or wash your clothes with. Corn starch will do wonders for the chaffing.
Reply:ok go see a doctor. my friend katie got that too. what happened, was that she is one of those ppl who are paranoid that she smells but she doesnt. anyway she over applies deoderant/anipersperant. She also happens to be mildly allergic to deoderant and anti persperant. So when she cut her underarm shaving and then put too much antipersperant (that she was allergic to) she got a rash from the allertic reaction which got infected and all chafed and red. Go to your doc, infections shoudl be taken very seriously!! he/she will give you ointment to cure the infection.
