No deodorant?

any ideas how to sugest to the new girl at work deodorant can prevent nasty smells! she must know its stinks to high heaven in a hot office with no windows. the smell get stronger throughout the day .. Subtly please

No deodorant?
Unless the task falls to you, there should be supervisors to take care of this problem. It's never fun to send the 'stinky kid' home, but it's a necessary evil. You don't want to cause coworker tension if you can help it, and they probably don't know how bad they smell. Go through the chain of command. Just bring it up to the supervisor, nicely, in a way that illustrates it's disruptive to the workplace, and they have protocol to take care of it.
Reply:This is NOT your job, and you shouldn't have to deal with it at all. This is a job for your boss, and you should bring the problem to the attention of your boss immediately. It's his or her job to handle stuff like that, that's why they are the boss.

Good luck!
Reply:You know deodorant may not be (or lack thereof) the problem. Some people can wash twice a day, apply deodorant and still pong. This often happens if you (like me) are one of those who perspire a lot. What can happen is that this gets into the armpits of the clothes you wear. As many people wear suits or a set wardrobe to work, the sweat just gets absorbed on a daily basis. You see in this instance its not the person its the clothes. I can tell you that no amount of washing gets rid of this. I asked a tailor once if there was any spray you could get. She told me that once this happened to a suit etc that it was basically ruined. I was told to put pockets in the armpits of my suits and than put a foam slip into these. the foam could be jettisoned every three days.
Reply:Start a conversation with the people nearest to her and say that you bought a deodorant but it was rubbish!! ask the other people what deodorant they have found last the longest extra!! Maybe she'll catch the hint and wont be offended....if not its the blunt approach I'm afraid.....good luck...I'm holding my nose for you :)
Reply:Deodorant use has been linked to the development of breast cancer.

It's not the lack of deodorant that causes her to smell, it must be because she's not showering each day and changing her clothes enough.

I shower twice a day, but don't use deodorant and I don't smell.

Perhaps you should leave her some shower gel around instead.

My husband used to work with someone who was very smelly and they had to let her go in the end because everybody felt ill when she was around.
Reply:You can talk to your manager about it and hold a "general" all office meeting and on the agenda, maybe go over dress code and office etiquette. That might make a light go on in her head.

I feel bad for you though, I know what you are going through. Its not a nice feeling, hopefully you dont sit too close to her. But then again maybe shes not even aware of it? Is it a cultural thing?
Reply:Buy a whole bag of deodorant sticks and give everyone in the office one, claiming that you got them as "free samples".
Reply:Don't mention it at work. Take her out for drinks afterward and talk to her about life outside of work then bring up deodorant as a passing topic. "The other day I saw a commercial for some..."
Reply:The next time you're around her, you could stop in mid sentence, sniff the air and say, "Do you smell something?". Then sniff under your armpit and shrug because you can't smell anything there. Then carry on your sentence.

Or the next time you're chatting, you could mention that you need to go brush your teeth, because you know the office is so small and you work so closely with each other that you wouldn't want to offend anyone with stinky breath or body odour.

If all else fails, go talk to HR and have them talk to her.
Reply:just ask her what she thinks about deodarant.
Reply:Just catch her when she's on her own and tell her politely that 'hey I don't think your deodorant's strong enough, it's really hot in here and I think you may need a stronger one?'

I'm 16 and I had a friend who had the same problem and she didn't hate me for telling her at all; in fact she was quite thankful. There's only one way you can do it.

Also, like Pammie said it may be a cultural thing. I know that because I went to an office where there was a bunch of Indian people on the second floor, and they managed to stink the whole place out. The upper floor which was a mix of White and Indians did not smell at all.
Reply:I actualy think the new girl is right, and you are wrong. I am a bloke not a girl, but I have found deodorants are a complete waste of money. You put them on, they stop you sweating for about 2 minutes. Then it is as if you hadn't put them on in the first place. You really mustn't believe their advertising bull s h i t. Its not true.

The best way to stop smelling is simply to shower or wash often. Deodorants are not the answer and never have been, no matter what the companies that produce the stuff might say.
Reply:try saying 2 her you have a friend who smells really bad what would be the best way 2 tell them that should work
Reply:When she goes to lunch put some on her desk she should get the hint!!! Or you could say alloud what is that horrible smeel!!! then ask anyone if they smell it!!!
Reply:Get her a gift basket that has some stuff in it but includes a deodorant! The reason for the gift basket can be just because you like her or because of Halloween, or because of Columbus day.

That is what I do when someone stinks. I get it for them and they have no choice but to use it. If she gets hurt then you can act hurt (but don't you like my gift?)

Give her 2 car air fresheners and tell her those are earrings for her. It is the latest trend!

Leave a perfume or deodorant on her desk with out anyone seeing you.

Good luck!
Reply:wow your such a nice person

Is Deodorant spray harmful?

I use deodorant everyday and many time

sometimes i use one can every two days.

i had noticed my clothes getting torned.

so is it harmfull to health

Is Deodorant spray harmful?
Yes, deodorant is toxic to your body and your clothing obviously. Many products that you put on your skin or hair have chemicals in them. These chemicals enter your bloodstream through your skin. I stopped using the deodorants with toxic ingredients (which most have) some time ago. I found a website called EWG, Cosmetics. You can type in any brand or product and it lists all its ingredients and whether or not they are toxic. It also gives products a rating from 0 to 10 with 10 being the most toxic. I use a natural deodorant now and it works just as well as the toxic stuff. It's called Crystal Body Deodorant Natural Deodorant Rock. It also comes in a mist if you prefer a spray. I am posting the link to the the EWG website so that you can look for a non toxic deodorant on there or search for any other products you may be concerned about. Good luck.
Reply:all aerosol sprays are bad
Reply:If you have allergies to some of the chemicals in deodorant you might have a problem.

One thing you want to be sure is you're using deodorant and not antiperspirant. Antiperspirants use aluminum to close the pores, and exposure to aluminum - while not scientifically proven - has a suspicion of being a possible cause of Alzheimers' disease. Reducing your exposure to aluminum certainly can't hurt even if it isn't the case.

If you have really serious odor problems or other issues such that you have trouble with your clothes being damaged, you might want to see a doctor and get a prescription for a stronger deodorant.

Also, women have what are called "dress shields" which I think are used for the same idea, to prevent sweat from staining their dresses, and there may be something similar available for men.

While doing a Google search on dress shields, I found the link below that this company mentions they make such things for men as well, that might be an idea for you.

Guys Deodorant ?

Thanks

Guys Deodorant ?
I don't use deodorants. I use creams instead. For me, I prefer Vebix; it's very great. I tried Deotox, but it wasn't that effective.
Reply:Red Zone
Reply:Forget deodorant-- you need antiperspirant instead to stop the wetness. Most deodorants smell too strong, go for unscented so your natural scent (and every guy has one, secretes from glands at the front of your underarm) will stand out.
Reply:Just use good French perfumes. Usual deodorants are incomparably vulgar

Which deodorant works best for girls who sweats alot?

need suggestions. Sometimes when the deodorant used mixes with the sweat smell it produces a very bad %26amp; annoying odor...

how about ones in Bodyshop? simply curious

Which deodorant works best for girls who sweats alot?
use arrid extradry

or certain dri

whatever you do, never use secret: it does not work!
Reply:Adidas for woman 48 hr. Protection... Its AWESOME!!!
Reply:degree that works pretty well .
Reply:I understand your problem, because I had the same one. I use Secret Clinical Protection, it does leave some marks, but because you are supposed to apply it at night, I just wipe some of it off in the morning, and add another layer of mens deoderent (non scented). I know it sounds weird, but this combo keeps me dry, even in the summer.
Reply:If your just worried about the smell then all you have to do is get a deodorant that has a strong smell. I think that Teen Spirit Stick works great especially for cheerleaders. If you sweat like a pig then i suggest Secret Clinical Strength. If that doesn't help then go to a doctor to get a prescription.
Reply:I use tawas, in the Philippines you can buy it in powder form or like a deodorant stick that last up for almost a year. It is very effective in minimizing sweat, preventing underarm smell, and it whitens the area and it has no odor to compete with your perfumes or body sprays.
Reply:certain dri stops the sweating like 100 percent and then you can use a regular deoderent or top

Good deodorant for men?
USE SOAP PAL AND WASH WELL THEN SHAVE UR ARMPITS AND USE GILLETE DEODERANT
Reply:This answer may sound crazy, but use Secret. Strong enough for a man, Ph balanced for a woman. Get the Shower Fresh or the Spring Breeze. Both leave little to NO scent.
Reply:Go to the cologne counter and cough up 15.00 bucks for some good deodorant. You wont smell like Old Spice Extra Strength.

Best deodorant??????????

whats the best deodorant you use that doen't cause ur underarms to sweat???????????

Best deodorant??????????
Actually what you need is an anti-perspirant. A "deodorant" will simply

mask the body odor. Whereas an anti-perspirant contains ingrediants to

keep you from sweating. You can also buy deodorant/anti-perspirants

which will do both.

One of the best anti-perspirants is made by Mitchum. It is a little more expensive than the other brands, but it is stronger.

Also most aniti-perspirants contain Aluminum Chlorhydrate. Some scientists say too much Aluminum in your system can promote Alzheimers later in life

Reply:Don't know the best, but one of the worse has to be Arm %26amp; Hammer...It's okay in the winter I guess, but when it's hot and humid, it actually made me have an odor, which I never had before...I've never had a problem with deoderant/anti-persiperant until I used that.

Best deodorant?

Whats the best deodorant to stop sweating and wont leave white marks on your clothes?

Best deodorant?
Anything not containing aluminum, which is highly linked to breast cancer. I use Crystal, it's oderless and amazingly works really well, and only contains mineral salt.
Reply:Same ans as Colleen. I used invisible solid deodorant.
Reply:hello! I've been asking that question when i was young. There's no such thing as the BEST deodorant.

We have different bodiliy reactions, right? But i did some experiments on deodorants. you could try these steps:

1. Buy a small deodorant.

2. Try to use it for about a month.Notice yur body reactions when you put on that deodorant. If it doesn't work on you, try another brand until your body reacted positively in that brand.

3. Don't try to overuse deodorant.

I guess these are just some of my suggestions. . . Good Luck!!
Reply:l use Lady`s Speed Stick but l get the gel deoderant cause lt won`t leave any stains on your cloths
Reply:This might sound crazy, but I use Axe Dry Unlimited. You'll pretty much forget what sweating is. And it smells so good, not like those chemically-scented perfumey ones. I don't know why most guys' deodorants don't leave any white residue, but I'm not complaining!
Reply:Sure, fresh scent, invisible solid
Reply:Ok. Always try secret platinum CUZ IT WORKS!!! Try these scents.

KUKUCOCOBUTTER: Smells good, like coconut %26amp; tropical stuff, and stays on until you take a shower. it is from SECRET PLATINUM.

JASMINE ORIENT: Smells even better(like flowers) and same brand.

These sell all over the place.

In one situation I actually sent a child to our school Social Worker who made the girl shower in the locker rooms while her clothes were being washed. Is deodorant unsafe?

I heard that deodorant blocks holes in the armpit (sorry for my lack of scientific knowledge)... so that sweat is not allow to be releazed..

Is this actually safe? Or is it harmfull?

Is deodorant unsafe?
It's not exactly unsafe, but alot of people decide not to use it! You are correct in saying that it can block paws under your arms yes-and because of that some people decide just to use body sprays through other parts of ther body instead of under the arms.

And it has just been released recently that anti-persperant deoderant can give you cancer !!! So i would stay off the anti-persperant mate--

Hope this awnsers your question ...
Reply:If you're concerned, consider buying an organic deoderant. You should be able to find this at most grocery stores (best bet would be Safeway) or at your local natural foods store.
Reply:I heard the same thing before. Supposedly cancerous tumors form around the underarm area. I've been looking for info on this before because 3 months ago my right armpit was itching alot. then it just went away.

my doctor said not to worry about it though.
Reply:I heard that most anti-perpirants can be bad as they contain aluminum, and tthis is a possible cancer causing agent. that;s why they started making aluminum free deodorant...i think it's just the anti perspirant that is supposedly bad, cause it does stop sweating.
Reply:Deodorants are cosmetic substances applied to the body, most frequently the armpits, to reduce the body odor caused by the bacterial breakdown of perspiration. A subgroup of deodorants are "'antiperspirants'", which prevents odor and reduces sweat produced by parts of the body. Antiperspirants are typically applied to the underarms, while deodorants can also be used on feet and other areas in the form of body sprays.

Human sweat itself is largely odorless. The principal cause of body odor are bacteria thriving in hot, humid environments such as the human underarm, which has a high density of sweat glands and is relatively occluded. The armpits are among the consistently warmest areas on the surface of the human body, and sweat glands provide moisture. Armpit hair adds to the odor because of the increased surface area.

The odor is seen as negative in some cultures (see below), hence many people's desire to eliminate or suppress it. One obvious way to reduce odor is to remove some (or all) of the underarm hair. There are a variety of cultural preferences around this practice.

ITS SAFE DON'T WORRY !
Reply:You just got out of the shower and reached for your favorite deodorant. You like it because it smells nice and it keeps your underarms dry and odor free. You've used it for a long time. But did you ever read the ingredients on the label and wonder about the safety of the almost unpronounceable chemicals listed in the too tiny to read print?

If not, you're like most people. You don't expect to find products on store shelves that contain harmful ingredients. But beware. The ingredients in many deodorant products could endanger your health.

Certainly, you've heard in the news recently about the possible association with deodorants and breast cancer. Maybe you've even heard about the possibility that aluminum in deodorants may contribute to Alzheimer's disease. And you may or may not know about ingredients which act like estrogen and can upset your hormonal balance.

Perhaps you've heard all these things and just shrugged them off. After all how could companies sell these products if they're not safe? The manufacturers certainly must test the ingredients and the products before they put them on the market, right? Well, not exactly! The law does not require manufacturers to test their products for safety.

In fact, except for colors and a few banned ingredients, manufacturers can use any raw material they want as an ingredient in your deodorant. Most of the ingredients used in deodorant and other personal care products have not been fully tested. Many have never been tested at all.

The industry, in an attempt to make it look like it's acting in the interest of consumer safety, formed the Cosmetic Ingredient Review in 1976 to evaluate the safety of ingredients used in cosmetics and personal care products. However, in the 29 years up to June 2005, they performed safety assessments on only about 10% of the ingredients allowed in cosmetic and personal care products, including deodorants, and never evaluated one third of the 50 most commonly used ingredients.

But, you might add, the FDA wouldn't allow companies to sell unsafe products to the public, right? Well, in theory! While the FDA urges manufacturers to conduct the tests necessary to substantiate the safety of their products, the law does not require manufacturers to test their products for safety. The FDA doesn't approve deodorants and antiperspirants or any other cosmetic or skin care products before they reach the marketplace. The FDA can only have a product removed from the market if they can prove it harmful in a court of law.

So, what does this mean for you? Does it mean you should stop using deodorant? What can you do to protect yourself? Well, you have several options. You can discover the secret to reading ingredient labels and ascertaining ingredient safety, making yourself a master of choosing products without harmful ingredients. You can ask someone who knows to recommend a safe deodorant or antiperspirant. Or you can get adventuresome and learn how to make your own.

Now, it really isn't necessary to go to the time and trouble of making your own, unless of course you want to. You can find healthy deodorant products in stores or online if you know how to read labels and determine ingredient safety. Once an almost impossible task for the average person, but no more.

Now you can easily master the art of label reading and interpretation with the book, Dying To Look Good. It gives you the keys to deciphering the safety of the ingredients on the label of your deodorant and other personal care products as well as providing names of healthy products and where you can buy them.

Reply:anti perspirants block your sweat glands. so deodorant with anti perspirant is not so good. you need to be careful not to wear too much, for too long. some people have developed cancer and cysts in the pectoral area from build up of anti perspirants. there is deodorant to purchase with out antiperspirants, and those are the ones to look for.
Reply:the short answer is no, but i would sugguest you go to your nearest std clinic and then have a talk with your sexul partners
Reply:The aluminum and other such chemicals can cause cancer try organic deoderants they aften aren't anti persperants so just use a little bit
Reply:I think it has an ingredient called aluminum chlorohydrate. There's some concern about whether long-term daily explosure to aluminum is good for you, but I'm not sure if there have ever been any scientifically valid studies done on this topic. If it bugs you, you can try a product that is basically a stick consisting of some kind of mineral salt. For example, there's one being sold at www.thecrystal.com . I've tried a similar product, and it worked for me. Plus they last a really long time. Like maybe almost a year.
Reply:theres pleanty of other "holes" so u dont over heat
Reply:Asthmatic reactions and skin irritation are the key health concerns associated with antiperspirants and deodorants. Aerosols, particularly those containing talc, present the greatest risk for asthmatics, but fragrances as well can spark an allergic response in inflamed passageways. In fact, fragrances and preservatives top the list of personal care product ingredients that produce irritation or allergic reactions, according to a study done by the North American Contact Dermatitis Group, but other ingredients also cause problems.

Deodorants can also contain small amounts of ingredients that are known or suspected carcinogens. In some cases ingredients can be safe in themselves, yet harbor or produce small quantities of known or suspected carcinogens -- through contamination, through break-down, or through reaction with other substances present in the product. Other common ingredients have been shown to be hormonally active in laboratory experiments, and are being investigated as human hormone disruptors.

Some chemicals such parabens in deodorants can cause a skin condition known as contact dermatitis. Signs of contact dermatitis include swelling, itching, inflammation, and even blisters; reactions even can occur days later and far from a product's contact site. Although it is possible for reactions to develop over time, If you've never seen these symptoms, you probably don't need to worry. Avoiding dermatitis-triggering ingredients is a good precaution for people with sensitive skin, even if there are no immediate signs of irritation. Metal-containing astringent salts in anti-perspirants can provoke granulomas (small bumps that may be irritated or itch) in underarm skin. (See below, What To Look Out For).

Deodorant ingredients remain on skin for hours, increasing the likelihood that they will be absorbed. As Dr. Epstein notes, chemicals that are absorbed through skin go right into the bloodstream without passing through the liver, which is the body's de-toxifying organ. Until the FDA requires adequate testing and implements improved safety regulations for personal care products, careful label reading is recommended to avoid or minimize risks to health from deodorant and anti-perspirant use. (See our ingredient information below, in What to Look Out For and What to Look For).

Environmental

When we shower, we wash deodorants and antiperspirants down the drain, introducing known or suspected carcinogens and suspected hormone disruptors into our nation's waterways (see Personal Health above). A May 2002 U.S. Geological Survey study found that many household chemicals have made their way into streams, threatening harm to ecosystems and potentially eroding the quality of drinking water supplies. Triclosan, an antibacterial found in deodorants and soaps whose ability to create resistant bacteria worries scientists, was found in more than 57% of the streams surveyed in this study. Also found in deodorants and antiperspirants are octoxynol compounds, otherwise known as alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEs), which are slow to break down and form compounds that can disrupt the endocrine systems of fish, birds, and mammals.

Deodorants and antiperspirants usually come packaged in plastics, materials which consume fossil fuel resources. These containers are likely to wind up in landfills with the remaining unused deodorant or anti-perspirant leaching into streams and lakes. (Read more about the environmental impacts of plastic packaging in Green Guide #88-89, Shopper's Guide to Plastics and Food.)

Mined aluminum, used in antiperspirants, scars the landscape, pollutes water, and consumes vast amounts of electricity. According to Lester Brown's Eco-Economy (Norton, 2000), annually the aluminum industry consumes as much electricity as the entire continent of Africa.

Animal Welfare

A grim history of cruelty to animals lies behind many personal care product ingredients. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires that each ingredient in a cosmetics product be "adequately substantiated for safety" prior to marketing or that the product carry a warning label indicating that its safety has not been determined. The FDA has established no clear criteria or standards for this testing and labeling. Cruel and often irrelevant animal studies have often been a company's answer to the FDA's vague demand. Animals are used to test products for eye and skin irritation and can still be used to gather "lethal dose" data; these tests subject animals to painful and sometimes deadly procedures.

Thankfully, no new tests need to be performed if a company wishes to use an ingredient already in use in the marketplace, but companies still often test new ingredients and new formulations on animals. Ann Marie Giunti of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) says that "information on what's tested and how is hard to come by," as companies wish to avoid the publicity attached to animal experiments. The vagueness of the FDA requirement permits alternatives to animal testing -- using computer modeling and laboratory human tissue, for example -- which not only avoid cruelty to animals but which also can provide more reliable dat

Anything not containing aluminum, which is highly linked to breast cancer. I use Crystal, it's oderless and amazingly works really well, and only contains mineral salt.

I guess these are just some of my suggestions. . . Good Luck!!

Best deodorant/antipersperant?

Whats the best deodorant/antipersperant for women? Halfway through my day at work I get sweat pits on my clothes and I don't smell so good either. Any advice? Thanks!

Best deodorant/antipersperant?
I recommend something called Drysol. I am unaware where it is sold but it has the highest amount of the chemical used so you don't perspire/sweat. I use Degree for men which has 17.8% of this product. The chemical and number listed is the active ingredient listed on the back of the deodorant bar.

What deodorant is best for extreme perspiration?

My 14yr old daughter perspires heavily. I have tried many different types of deodorant and it has not helped. She can't wear t-shirts or any shirt that is close to her underarm. Can you suggest something that may help her?

What deodorant is best for extreme perspiration?
Ask your MD about a topical solution called Dry Sol. It's prescription, but shouldn't be as it is very safe (and cheap!).

This is a liquid solution that your girl would apply to any problem areas daily for the first few days and, then, you should be able to cut it down to 2 or 3 times a week.

There will be a slight burn/tingle when you apply it, but better some temporary tingle than heavy sweat!

A bottle that should last for several weeks, if not months, is only about $10-15.

Try it for any excessively sweaty areas, hands, face, etc!
Reply:Has she tried the new Secret Clinical strength? I personally haven't tried it, but heard good things about it from my sister.

If that doesn't work, you can actually mention to her doctor that she is excessively sweating during the day at her resting heartbeat, and he can give you a prescription for a *real* clinical strength deodorant. Since she is so young, I am not certain if this is an option, but, if the prescription strength doesn't even work, I've heard of women who have, and had a friend who got botox injections into their underarms to stop the excessive underarm sweat.
Reply:I've had an extreme perspiration problem since I was 11 years old and deodorants never seemed to help. I was prescribed Dry Sol by my doctor which I use once a week. It's a medication that I have to put on my underarms at bed time and rinse off in the morning. It works great. Also, I use Sure clear gel which I absolutely love. I can definitely empathize with your daughter, It is very uncomfortable to live with an underarm perspiration problem. Ask your doctor about Dry Sol, it works for me. Good luck!
Reply:No deodorant will help, she has to use anti perspirante
Reply:Degree...you don't want a deodorant, you need an antiperspirant.
Reply:try secret clinical strength i have the same problem and trust me, it works
Reply:my doctor gave me prescriptioned deoderant and it works dandy. :-]
Reply:I had the same problem when I was her age. I could not wear t-shirts or any thin material and it was sooooo embarassing! I tried to use prescription deodorants but they did not work. I found a roll-on deodorant at a local store called Certain Dri. You put this on at night time and let it dry. In the morning you use your regular deodorant and youre good to go. When I first used it I put it on both at night and a little in the morning. She may experience some skin irritation at first but it shouldnt be too bad. You should be able to find this at any drug store (like CVS). It comes in a box and is around $6. I hope this helps and I strongly recommend it!!! Good luck to your daughter!

What deodorant should I use so my underwear doesn't change color?

I asked a question some time ago about my whites, and I now I want to ask another. I use Old Spice High Endurance, and the blue colored one turns my shirt armpits blue, and the "Invisible Solid" turns them yellow. Is there any deodorant that doesn't change the color of your shirt armpits?

What deodorant should I use so my underwear doesn't change color?
I have that problem.. But maybe its because I drink? Shame on me.
Reply:add vinegar to final rinse of your wash and it supposed to protect your clothes from those type of stains.

always add 1 cup vinegar to your final rinse cycle. your clothes will last longer and it's good for your washer too!

it also is a natural fabric softener..no your clothes will not smell like vinegar!
Reply:Roll on and stick deodorants put a coating on your underwear. After time it builds up. Using bleach only makes the deodorant turn yellow. Which makes your underwear yellow. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do. I have tried everything for this problem. Spray deodorants don't seem to do this. The only deodorant that we have been having luck with is Degree. The one that says "little black dress approved". Yes my husband uses it and it works great.
Reply:We've never had a problem with Degree, but it may not be the deodorant, necessarily, it may be your sweat. You have apocrine glands under your arms and in your groin, and that is why the sweat from these places smell stronger/different than from other places on your body. If you smoke or chew tobacco, this could change the composition of your body fluids and possibly, especially when mixed with deodorant,

cause underarm stains. HTH.

Best Deodorant?

just wondering, what have you guys found to be the best deodorant(Axe, Old spice, etc.) for certain event and times, like parties, or dances, or meetings, or clubbing, and girls which one do you like most on a guy?

Best Deodorant?
Old Spice solid will keep you odor free for at least 18 hours. I also recommend Arm %26amp; Hammer solid which is just as good. It's best to choose a light scented deodorant and so it won't clash with the cologne (if you wear cologne).

The truth is if u r really after a REAL deodorant to get rid of body odors use ALUM BAR/ POWDER, u can buy it at the market just dip it on water and rub it on the armpits it really works much much better than any commercialize deodorant. Check all the deodorant it has an alum ingredient. Go natural and u will get the best result and very very cheap.

What's The Best Sweat Absorbent Deodorant For Girls??

Because so far ALL the deodorants that I have tried have faialed and I know this might sound strange but, i don't sweat inside only when I go somewhere and I shave everyday under my arms but the sweat does not go away even when I put deodorant on. SO PLEASE HELP ME!! THANKS.

NOTE-Right know I use ARM AND HAMMER DEODORANT AND IT WORKS GOOD INSIDE BUT WHENEVER I GO SOMEWHERE THAT'S WHEN I BEGIN TO SWEAT.

What's The Best Sweat Absorbent Deodorant For Girls??
I read in a magazine that this is the best way for your deodorant to work:

shower the night before, and shave

apply 2 "coats" of deodorant

before you go to bed apply 2 more and wrap your armpits in plastic wrap, this will ensure that the deodorant goes into the pores, and is absorbed into your skin

in the morning apply whatever you normally apply and voila.

your supposed to continue this and after a week or so you should see an improvement.

unfortunately some people just sweat more than others, so try not to stress too much about it, and if it really bothers you, try wearing dark colours more.

i use secret invisible, in a nice not too stong smell satin someting i think.
Reply:try Sportif/ACTIVE Deodorant
Reply:First, make sure you are using a product that is both a deodorant and an antiperspirant. Deodorant does just as the name suggests...it takes away or masks the odor, but has nothing to do with stopping sweat. An antiperspirant also does as the name suggests and prevents perspiration (or sweat). I personally find that Secret products work better than any other brand. They even have a line of over the counter clinical strength combination deodorants/antiperspirants...it isn't cheap (about $7-8 a stick at Target), but if you have tried everything else this is probably the best non-prescription option. If you haven't, however, tried Secret products before I would suggest Secret Plantium Soft Solid or Secret Plantium Soft Solid with Olay (not their clear solid as that is the one Secret product that is worthless). It is half the price of the clinical strength and works great.

Another option is going to your doctor and getting a prescription antiperspirant. There are some people (both men and women) who just sweat more regardless.

Anyhow I hope that helps.
Reply:Try a persciption deodorant ... yes they do have them and they work better than everyday normal deodorant.

White Deodorant Stain Under Arm On Black T-Shirt?

White Deodorant Stain Under Arm On Black T-Shirt?
it should come off in regular wash, in cold water since it's black. You can spray on stain removers or oxy clean before wash if needed.
Reply:I normally get these marks when i put on my top so i roll up the top all the way pop it over my head and i don't get the deo stains on it as it's not touched my arm pits until the top is on

Does deodorant only cover up the bad odor of the sweat or does it also prevent sweating in the armpits?

I have a big trouble with my armpits sweating and making these huge sweat marks in my armpits. extremely embarressing. if anyone has any idea how to stop my armpits from sweating if the deodorant doesn't work. PLEASE.

Does deodorant only cover up the bad odor of the sweat or does it also prevent sweating in the armpits?
You need to buy a deodorant/antiperspirant. That'll do it.
Reply:deodorants.....helps with smell...not with perspiration.....try anti-perspirant with deodorant....if that doesn't help...you could have a sweating problem.....see your doctor....many others suffer from the same thing....good luck
Reply:Look for a product that has "Anti-perspirant and deoderant" on the label. The anti-perspirant will keep you dry while the deoderant will prevent the odor.

Since I don't know if you are male or female, I will suggest that you try Old Spice for men, or Dove products for women.

If these products don't work, consult your physician for something stronger.

Good luck.

Reply:Deodorant's alone don't work. It has to be a combination deodorant/antiperspirant. Try Degree, Dove, Secret or Sure. Soft solids work better than regular solids or sprays. There are a lot of scents available in all underarm protection.
Reply:ANT1PERSPIRANTS stop us sweating by using zirconium and

aluminium to block the poreswhich release the sweat. The astringent ingredients also contract pores, limiting the amount of sweat produced. Deodorants mask the smell of sweat but do not prevent sweating. They contain a fragrance or have anti-bacterial ingredients, such as triclosan, which minimize the odour-producing bacteria effectively and safely. Deodorants may limit the smell, but they will still leave you with the wetness. If you don't like the idea of stop-ping your body from sweating, deodorants are the best answer. Some people believe that sweating is a natural way to release toxins - however, most are released through urine and faeces and in very cold countries, where people don't sweat as much, there have not been any marked health problems. Most antiperspirants also contain a fragranced deodorant, although you can get unscented versions.
Reply:Need deoderant/ anti-persperant. If odor is strong, try this. Befor shower/bath get some lemon halves (yellow) rub on arm pits (please before shave if a girl) then soap and wash. Repeat for several days. Less ordor, less sweat.
Reply:see a dermatologist. If you have over active sweat glands they can recommend some treatments. I have also recently heard advertisements that suggest Botox is useful for reducing this kind of condition. Ask a dermatologist about this.
Reply:To stop the sweating, make sure the deodorant doubles as an anti-perspirant.

I use unscented Mitchum sport, and sometimes plain baking soda. A lot of people are allergic to deodorants, so if one doesn't work for you, try another brand. And be sure to bathe every day, and after exercise.

I need help with my friends deodorant issues...?

So my friends birthday is coming up and i'm making up a whole bag of beauty supplies for her birthday. And not to be mean but my friend gets really sweaty and sometimes smells. So i want to put deodorant in there. I've heard good things about secret deodorant [i would rather it be secret] but what kind smells really good and leaves her fresh. Smell is really important. Anyone be able to help me out on this deodorant dilemma?

I need help with my friends deodorant issues...?
get "SECRET" deoderant.. no, really, that's what it's called!!!! lol
Reply:I use dove, but try to get a deorderate w/ the strongest smell. lol
Reply:CYNTHIA D'S ANSWER IS GOOD......
Reply:Teen Spirit smells real good

Dove smells real good too.
Reply:Maybe instead of trying to put deodorant on her yourself, you should actually talk, or have someone else talk, to her about her body odor. My grandma has suggested this to me about a girl that smells at our school, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm sure if she's your friend, she'll understand more about it then this girl at my school (because she likes to be a pain in the ***) and take it more seriously. Maybe she doesn't realize she has a body odor problem?

My sister has a bad body odor problem too. Everyday, I go tell her to put on deodorant (because I think she just doesn't wear it, which is disgusting). But then she still has an odor, so I also think she doesn't scrub while she's in the shower. Showering, I hope we all know, is important to our body odor too. I hope that you can work something out.
Reply:I use Dry Idea and it appears to work really well. But, I understand your dilemma about not wanting to offend her, so I suggest that you go to Bath and Body Works. I believe they sell deodorants with corresponding scents to match their lotions and soaps.

Also, there are a couple of other brands that sell deodorants to correspond with their beauty products. I see them at the larger health food stores. Drug stores sometimes carry a full line of inexpensive products that feature deodorants.

How nice that she has a friend that cares enough to help her, without offending her.

Good luck to you.
Reply:the new peach one...vinella((not good english))

they are relly good!
Reply:i think secret is a good brand... maybe secret invisible solid-- it has a sparkly design on the front and comes in rose, pear, vanilla, etc.

best of luck!
Reply:get ban!

it bans rashes and odor :)
Reply:the deodorant that i think smells really good is secret
Reply:Different deodorant works better on different people. I use Soft and Gentle - the purple one. It smells lovely and works well on me, but my mum finds it no good for her!

Secret is a good deodorant - I have used it before. Maybe you need to actually talk to your friend about this. I'm sure she would rather hear about her 'problem' from you and not someone else!?
Reply:i use Dove ultimate clear. it doesnt show up on clothes.

Feet deodorant ?
Hey there.

I understand your problem and have found some pretty killer deodorant that might help you.

Dr. Scholl's Odor Destroyers Foot Deodorant Spray in a 3.5 OZ bottle.

It can be found at most local drugs stores and is a spray can bottle. Just make sure you let it dry before putting your shoes on.

-Katie Bug
Reply:Keep your feet dry as possible, it is the moisture that allows bacteria to grow and produce the odors.

There are some specifically designed foot powders such as Gold Bond. Or you can use talcum or baby powder to keep your feet dry, Also remember to wear clean dry socks.
Reply:Gold Bond Foot Powder.

Triple Action Relief.

Relieves itch, absorbes moisture, controls foot odor.

Maxium Strength.

it helps.

can i get extra 10 points for this advertisment?

I dont get pay from them.

Best deodorant/antiperspirant for me?

what is the best deodorant/antiperspirant for someone who sweats from stress like i do? i want something thats long lasting and smells really good too.

Best deodorant/antiperspirant for me?
If you are a woman, degree sport works REALLY good! After I had my son, my deoderant didn't work anymore, and I changed to a few different ones, that one works well. Lady Speed Stick also works pretty well
Reply:i use dove and my sister uses dry and whatever
Reply:I like Degree Energy Splash. Its an anitperspirant (deoderant just covers up smells, antiperspirant contains ingredients that help prevent you from sweating). Its smells really good, and its degree, so it lasts a long time (I put in on in the morning, go to work, and then go to the gym and it holds up).
Reply:My favorite is the Sweet Strawberry Smell Deodorant/Antiperspirant Teen Spirit Stick. I sweat from stress to but this just keeps me smelling good.
Reply:Try Soft %26amp; DRi w/derma Stripe. If not good enuf, try Secret Platinum. Both have yummy flavors. Warning: Secret Platinum is really strung....
Reply:take a bath regularly. use cotton clothing. deodorants if used regularly leads to other skin problems like blocking of pores
Reply:I use Mitchum or one designed for heavy perspiration. I sweat with nerves or anger!!!
Reply:Drysol,it's available behind the counter at your local pharmacy.
Reply:Since most commercial anti-perspirants/deodorants contain toxic chemicals, such as aluminum oxide that can contribute to alzheimers later in life, you would be best off sticking to something natural. Tom's of Maine has a wonderful, organic deodorant bar with a supremely pleasing honeysuckle rose scent that you will love. Otherwise, I would recommend applying just a few drops of essential oil to your skin. Lavender is most pleasing and soothing. Or, for those days when perhaps odor is a real worry, patchouli is deliciously earthy and sensual and will hide most any natural "body perfume" of your own.
Reply:Degree or Arrid Extra Extra -Dry
Reply:Degree is made for men and women and is very potent. You do not have to re- apply it until you bathe again, it does not lose its kick throughout the day. I think that is the best deodorant out there.
Reply:adidas wetness control. or go to the doctor.

Suave deodorant question.....?

I was wondering the difference of Suave deodorant. Their active ingreedient is Aluminum Chlorohydrate 20%. Secret's (for example) is Aluminum Zirconium Trichlorohydrex Gly 19%. Are these the same ingredients or different ones? Also, how is the Suave brand comparable to major brans?

Suave deodorant question.....?
Traditionally aluminum chloride and aluminum chlorohydrate have been the actives des jour. However, aluminum in these forms can be irritating to the skin, cause acne and aggravate razor burn. The newest generation ingredient, Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Glycine, is much better tolerated by the skin and less likely to cause irritation or acne.

Here's where I got this:

Which deodorant and antiperspirant is the best for the worst body odor?

i seriously have problems with me sweating like 24/7, so i want to know which deodorant and antiperspitants work the best? can u list some for me?

Which deodorant and antiperspirant is the best for the worst body odor?
I shower everyday, at least on the days I do not want to smell, and use degree ultra.
Reply:There is no best one as they all work differently on each person. One of the strongest though is Mitchum.
Reply:certain dri. you put it on at nite and it closes your pores for the day.
Reply:there is a new one on the market that you can get without a prescription. It is for people who sweat excessively. I forget the brand though, but all the stores should have it by now

My deodorant is not working, antiperspirant seems to be?

I used to use secret in high school. I switched to degree then to Arrid XXX when degree stopped working. I normally would switch between the two brands, but this time when I did it this time it did not work.

I read like 10 questions and the answers to those questions about this. I learned that dry sol a prescription stops the wetness, or I could try Mitchum or clinical secret or ban roll on.

I learned that hormones change and that can cause my scent to change. I already knew that hair traps smells so that was no help. The folks who wrote in to shower and shave as an answer obviously had no idea what the real problem was.

The only time I sweat excessively is when I am on my period or about to come on my period otherwise, the sweat is not the issue. The deodorant, the fragrance, goes away and i can smell myself. I don't stink like I am just coming form the gym but I don't smell fresh. I sniff my shirt/sweat underarm area and sometimes they smell and sometimes they don't.

My deodorant is not working, antiperspirant seems to be?
Change your bra every day (some girls don't)

You can try certain dry, which is an antiperspirant you apply at bedtime, it's used to be prescription, and then use a plain deodorant without AP during the day. If it's not an issue when you're not near you period, then only use it around the time when you are and switch back to your normal stuff the rest of the month.

For your body, you can try a product called Crystal, it's a natural body deodorant that you can spray on your body and back OR you can use Shower to Shower powder on your torso and under your breasts where you sweat more.

More than likely, you're just self counscious and no one else smells what you do, but if it's going to make you more confident, take these extra steps.
Reply:I agree with the answer about wearing a bar only once before washing and the same with the shirts. I have had this problem for years and switch back and forth as well. What I like best is Secret Soft Solid, I do not like the solid or the soft gel, only the Soft Solid it pushes up through the holes and looks a little like lotion, I can also only use the Powder scent or the same thing happens to me. And not the powder scent with Olay in it either. I also put deodorant on about 4 or 5 times a day whenever I can smell it. I keep some in my car. And a travel size (it is only available in the solid) in my purse.

I tried the Secret clinical but did not like it. You have to put it on at night and it basically clogs your pores to prevent the sweating and I don't think that is good for your body.
Reply:The only thing that has worked for me is Certain Dri. They have really lame commercials, but it really does work. Most of the antiperspirants you buy all have the same ingredients with just different amounts of the aluminum based compound. Certain Dri is different and you only use it once every 72 hours. They also have a daily one that I started using and it helps inbetween the time when the main one is used.

It is relatively cheap, so it wouldn't hurt to try at least. I have tried all of the other ones out there!

The dangers of wearing too much deodorant?

I don't have a real problem when it comes to body odor but I do have this obsession of constantly reapplying antiperspirant. I use Secret Platinum (the solid deodorant) in the scent Vanilla Chai. I just can't get enough of this wonderful soft musky fragrance which has led me to use the deodorant as a perfume rather than an antiperspirant.

I did some research to find out whether too much deodorant may be hazardous to my health and I came along these two articles:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/203730...

http://www.infowars.com/articles/science...

I wonder if the are other health concerns or disadvantages involving the use of too much antiperspirant. What do you think?

The dangers of wearing too much deodorant?
Like your 2nd article said, antiperspirants contain aluminum (not deoderants, but if they're also antiperspirants they do), which has been linked to Alzheimers Disease. They haven't yet been able to link using antiperspirants with Alzheimers directly, but they know that the brains of Alzheimers patients contained more aluminum than people who died without Alzheimers. After seeing my grandmother die of that, I can tell you it's a horrible way to go, so I'm trying to use deoderants and not antiperspirants.
Reply:this doesnt really pertain to your question but im fairly sure theres a body mist in the same scent, it might be spray deodorant but i dont think so (and even if it was you could mist your body / clothes with that and it'd probably be a lot better for you)

:)
Reply:There are disadvantages to not sweating because our bodies were designed to sweat to rid ourselves of toxins.
Reply:Not all deodorants have aluminum in them. Read the ingredients before buying. Also some makeup and eye makeup have aluminum in them so read those packages to.

Ban deodorant and aluminum?

does the deodorant BAN hav aluminium in it??

Ban deodorant and aluminum?
Ban does not offer a deodorant only that I know of. It offer deodorant antiperspirant and yes that contains aluminum salts
Reply:If it is an anti persperant it probably does. But I thought the whole aluminum thing with deoderants was one of those urban legend things.

What deodorant is better !!!!!!!!!?

My armpits are always sweaty I am using The Teen Spirit by Lady Speed Stick Deodarant i put it on everyday and alot what is my problem what deodorant can I use so my underarms are not sweaty at school I wear my sweater all day and it is hot what should I do

What deodorant is better !!!!!!!!!?
I think Nivea deodorant is a god one.

But if you are feeling sweet under your armpits try to put some Talcum after you have taken deodorant on.

Talcum will absorb the moistness under your armpits.

They sell Talcum without perfume so you will not mix the smell from your deodorant with your Talcum.

God luck to you!
Reply:Try Secret Clinical Strength or Degree. They work great. I use Dove, it smells pretty great and I never get sweaty so you can try that too. Teen Spirit isn't that great of a deodorant. Make sure when you buy one it says antiperspirant on it.
Reply:well its been a year now since iver been using the Dove spray its good

once i also used da rexona spray

i belive sprays are good in a sence they dnt leave the armpits black

gud luck
Reply:oo i'm an expert at this! I am 19 now, but have had the dripping pits since I was like 13...I have used everything and I love Degree Ultra Clear in the scent Pure Satin..it smells like perfume, but keeps me dry. But when i'm really sweaty I put some baby powder or gold bond over my deodorant ...It sounds weird I know, but works!
Reply:I would reccommend

Ban

Degree Women

Secret Clinical Strength

These work good.

Hope these help you 2!!
Reply:I use degree ultra clear. I have used teen spirit before, and it didn't work well for me, and I'm a light sweater. Try powder, and body spray as well. If you still are sweaty maybe you could try a mens deodorant, for I sometimes run out and had to use my brother's, they work nice too.
Reply:If you sweat profusely, you need to double up. I use two anti-perspirants: aerosol and solid. I usually use Sure or Secret for the spray and Arid or Mitchum for the solid. I also keep a can of spray at work and spray in the afternoon if necessary. (If you are in school, keep it in your gym locker or backpack.)
Reply:If it's hot, try not wearing a sweater. ;)

If you must, try Secret Clinical Strength. It's fabulous. I can work out at the gym for two hours and not be gross. If you don't want to try that, try an antiperspirant. Dove Invisible Solid is great.
Reply:Try any Secret deodorant. Everyone in my family uses them.
