How do I prevent my deodorant from ruining my razors?

I use Secret Platinum deodorant, which works great but goes on really dry. I always scrub under my arms with soap and a rag when I bathe. However, when I go to shave, there is still deodorant there and it sticks to my razors and pretty much ruins them. Is there something that gets the deodorant off really well?

clean the razors with alcohol...

and find a strong hard soap to remove al the deodorant, only for that area
Reply:If you're deodorant isn't coming off with just simple soap and water then I would say that you are using a deodorant with way too many chemical ingrediants in it. If I were you I would switch to something more natural. At the very least I would at least switch to something that doesn't contain aluminum since it has been linked to many different health issues. I use an all natural deodorant made by JASON. This brand works great and I certianly put it to the test since I live in Florida. Good luck!
Reply:You are obviously not washing well enough if you still have deodorant left on your arm pits. Try using one of those mesh sponges to scrub, rinse, then scrub again. When you shave, use a shaving cream.
Reply:wash it off first.

Reply:I would be afraid of a deodorant I couldn't wash off.
Reply:try shaving in the morning, wait 30 mins then put your deoderent on.

  1. I have the same problem and I've tried every kind of body wash and soap, I've changed deodorants too. I still end up with a sticky glue-like stuff on my armpits, only a thin layer but it's enough to gum up a perfectly good razor which also makes it even harder to rinse the hair out.
