Does deodorant only cover up the bad odor of the sweat or does it also prevent sweating in the armpits?

I have a big trouble with my armpits sweating and making these huge sweat marks in my armpits. extremely embarressing. if anyone has any idea how to stop my armpits from sweating if the deodorant doesn't work. PLEASE.

Does deodorant only cover up the bad odor of the sweat or does it also prevent sweating in the armpits?
You need to buy a deodorant/antiperspirant. That'll do it.
Reply:deodorants.....helps with smell...not with perspiration.....try anti-perspirant with deodorant....if that doesn't help...you could have a sweating problem.....see your doctor....many others suffer from the same thing....good luck
Reply:Look for a product that has "Anti-perspirant and deoderant" on the label. The anti-perspirant will keep you dry while the deoderant will prevent the odor.

Since I don't know if you are male or female, I will suggest that you try Old Spice for men, or Dove products for women.

If these products don't work, consult your physician for something stronger.

Good luck.
Reply:if u wanna stop the sweat, just get an anti-persperant deoderant...
Reply:well everyone sweats..its just that deodorant covers the bad odor.. haha my friend puts tissue under her armpits so that the sweat doesnt show.

stupid i know but hey it works! rofl.
Reply:phew you stink
Reply:Try Degree- anti perspirant/deodorant
Reply:there are deoderants. and then there are anti-perspirants which are supposed to help with the sweating. try witch hazel tho you can get it at health stores.
Reply:Deoderant for odors

Antiperspirant for the wetness factor...

Or, how about those shields??

I wish you well..

Reply:Deodorant's alone don't work. It has to be a combination deodorant/antiperspirant. Try Degree, Dove, Secret or Sure. Soft solids work better than regular solids or sprays. There are a lot of scents available in all underarm protection.
Reply:ANT1PERSPIRANTS stop us sweating by using zirconium and

aluminium to block the poreswhich release the sweat. The astringent ingredients also contract pores, limiting the amount of sweat produced. Deodorants mask the smell of sweat but do not prevent sweating. They contain a fragrance or have anti-bacterial ingredients, such as triclosan, which minimize the odour-producing bacteria effectively and safely. Deodorants may limit the smell, but they will still leave you with the wetness. If you don't like the idea of stop-ping your body from sweating, deodorants are the best answer. Some people believe that sweating is a natural way to release toxins - however, most are released through urine and faeces and in very cold countries, where people don't sweat as much, there have not been any marked health problems. Most antiperspirants also contain a fragranced deodorant, although you can get unscented versions.
Reply:Need deoderant/ anti-persperant. If odor is strong, try this. Befor shower/bath get some lemon halves (yellow) rub on arm pits (please before shave if a girl) then soap and wash. Repeat for several days. Less ordor, less sweat.
Reply:see a dermatologist. If you have over active sweat glands they can recommend some treatments. I have also recently heard advertisements that suggest Botox is useful for reducing this kind of condition. Ask a dermatologist about this.
Reply:To stop the sweating, make sure the deodorant doubles as an anti-perspirant.
