Why is Deodorant dying my shirts (bleach like dye)?

Ive been wearing right guard sport anti perspirant for years. It contains aluminum zirconium ocatchlorohydrex, and im not sure why but a horrible trend of the underarms of my nice shirts are not getting just simple deodorant stains, it is actually dying them. For example, i have a couple of nice dark blue shirts, and it is dying the underams a very light blue, its not something I can wash out, it is permanent.

I am by no means a profuse sweater, I actually sweat very little. But I like to wear anti perspirant so when Im out and it gets warm I dont get those nasty looking wet armpits..or atleast I attempt to minimize it.

Im assuming its the active ingredient (aluminum...blah blah) that is doing this, but before I switch deodorants ( I also dont know what to switch to), Id like to see if anyone could shed a little light on the situation.

Antiperspirant dyes clothes. Repeated washings with a laundry soap like Tide with Bleach will eventually get them back to the normal color.

If you want to avoid the stains, make sure the label says %26quot;Deodorant%26quot;, not %26quot;Antiperspirant%26quot;.

I use Old Spice regular scented deodorant. It leaves no stain and oddly enough seems to keep me just as dry as Antiperspirant used to.
Reply:Wear a white cotton undershirt under your dress shirts (that is what my husband does), or else find a different deoderant.
